Deanna Harris grew up going to figure skating practice and competitions, but after a bad injury, she feared her time on the ice was over. However, thanks to physical therapy, she soon made it back to the ice. This experience inspired Harris to pursue physical therapy, earning her DPT from Azusa Pacific University in 2021, and she gives back by helping young athletes recover from their own injuries. She enjoys creating connections with patients and watching them overcome boundaries. In her free time, she loves to do water sports and activities such as kayaking and paddle-boarding.

What motivates you?

I love building connections with patients and watching them progress from being in pain to overcoming obstacles.

What is a favorite memory from your time as a physical therapist?

One time I was working with a gymnast, and when she was able to, we had a handstand competition!

Do you have any pets?

I have a three-year-old black cat named Tonks who is very spoiled.

Do you have any hobbies?

I ice skated competitively for 14 years, so I still skate recreationally. Besides that, I enjoy line dancing, snowboarding, and any water sport.
